Art Deco

Fashion Revolution Runway, Dubai, 2019

Inspiration

The collection draws from sculptural forms of the Art Deco era, reinterpreted through polygonal compositions.

It explores geometry as a visual and structural language, translating architectural and sculptural references into garments through form and surface.

Platform

Presented in Dubai, 2019

Work

The collection explores:

  • polygonal interpretations of Art Deco forms
  • structured surfaces developed through geometric composition
  • textiles woven in collaboration with weavers from Chennimalai, Tamil Nadu, India

This marks a shift in the practice, where material development is grounded in direct engagement with weaving communities.

The garments extend geometric ideas into textile and form, allowing structure to emerge through both design and making.

Context

This collection marks the beginning of the studio’s direction as a craft-led, sustainable and ethical fashion practice, integrating handwoven textiles into contemporary fashion.
